Hello, my name is Amanda Gurgel, the founder of Beyond-Counseling, and a licensed mental health provider. Over the last 10 years, I have had the pleasure of helping individuals, children, and families find growth and success in their personal lives. I founded Beyond-Counseling in September 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Globally, we were all facing a very difficult and unprecedented time in our lives. I witnessed the impact it had on my personal life and those around me. I was inspired to help our community grow and heal by strengthening the mental health support systems. The demand for mental health exceeded my ability to aid everyone, so I decided to open Beyond-Counseling & Holistic Group Practice. By hiring other professional mental health providers that are loving, caring, and dedicated, we are able to support the community’s mental health needs on a larger scale.  I am very grateful to have an amazing team to help our clients reach their fullest potential with an integrative and holistic approach to healing.

As a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in Fort Lauderdale and Broward County, I have worked in private based settings with women, children, and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, separation/ divorce, and many more of life’s obstacles. During my time as an ESE Educator and school-based therapist, I have provided services for ADHD, social skills training, childhood/adolescent trauma, social anxiety, bullying, and behavioral modification. I specialize in improving parent/child relationships and providing parenting interventions.

 

My goal as your therapist is to support you every step of the way within your process and to use the best approaches that meet your needs. My preference is to integrate an individualized, holistic, and evidence-based approach.
