Hello! I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern at Beyond-Counseling. I earned my BS and licensure in Psychology in Brazil - where I also had my private practice - and my Master in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I am passionate about the human mind, emotions, behaviors and appreciate the impact a mental health professional's support can have on someone's life.
 
I work with children, adolescents (including their families), and adults, supporting them during some of their most challenging times, including those facing anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, eating disorders, and life transitions. Raising my kids, studying and working in 3 different countries  (US, Brazil and Australia) also helped me better understand the challenges of adapting to new cultures while pursuing your dreams. My sessions may be conducted in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
 
I believe therapy should be a warm, empathic and collaborative experience between client and clinician; one that acknowledges the individual as a whole and unique being. I utilize an integrative approach drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, Art/Play Therapy and Psychoeducation. The approach used will be based on the clients' needs and goals, focused on skills that lead to connection, inner strength, growth, change and happiness.
